First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a Sales Account Manager on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities with new and existing customers, target these prospects with a clear and detailed plan to build long-term profitable sales, develop relationships, and recommend solutions.
- Build relationships with new and existing customers to establish yourself as their key account manager and grow these accounts where opportunities are identified.
- Respond to incoming email and phone inquiries, ensuring customers are quoted and orders are processed by the Sales Support Team.
- Create a daily outbound call plan with a proactive approach.
- Listen to customer requirements, create detailed proposal documents, and present appropriately.
- Challenge any objections to convert your quotes.
- Actively seek ways to grow the business by immersing yourself in the industry and working closely with the sales leadership team on new ideas and prospects.
- Advise customers on forthcoming product developments and discuss special promotions.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date customer records on the company CRM.
- Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events, etc., as required.
- Remain motivated, manage your workload proactively to achieve KPIs.
- Follow company quality management and health & safety guidelines.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by the Senior Management team.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous internal sales experience (ideally, minimum 3+ years).
- Strong B2B sales experience, ideally consultative and/or technical.
- Account management and business development experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective, positive working relationships with internal and external professionals.
- Enjoys working towards sales targets and goals, always striving to overachieve.
- Good all-round IT skills and experience using a CRM system.
- Must be a team player with a ‘can do, will do’ attitude, determination, and confidence.
- Resilience and negotiation skills are essential.
- Ability to prioritize work and adapt positively to changing priorities.
- Able to work independently.
- Experience in selling electrical accessories or cables is highly advantageous.
- Experience selling into a wholesale/re-distribution market is highly desirable.
- Formal sales qualifications and training will support any application.
