Job summary

Menlo Park Adult Social Care in Workington is seeking a General Practitioner to join a forward‑thinking practice. The role offers flexibility with sessions, with a preference for Tue/Wed/Thu.

The team includes ANP, Paramedic, Pharmacists, and Practice Nurses, and the workload features ~15‑minute appointments and ~30 patients per day. The position starts as a Salaried GP with potential to become Lead GP, offering progression, indemnity paid, NHS Pension, 6 weeks leave, and 1 week study leave.

Qualifications

• Qualified as a General Practitioner and GMC registered.
• Experience in primary care settings preferred.
• Understanding of NHS pension and indemnity arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 15-minute face-to-face consultations.
• Manage a caseload with approximately 30 patients per day.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a forward‑thinking practice.
• Minimise administrative burden with support from the team.
• Possibility to progress to Lead GP with additional responsibility.

Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a GP to join a forward-thinking Practice in the Workington area, who are looking for an additional GP to join their team. The practice can be flexible with the number of sessions on offer, though has a preference for working days to include Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. The Practice is an accredited Training Practice and regularly has a registrar on site, along with a very diverse MDT including ANP, Paramedic, Pharmacists and Practice Nurses. The workload is kept as reasonable as possible with 15-minute face-to-face appointments, seeing circa 32 patients per day. The role of Salaried GP pays up to £10,800 per session though development is available to a Lead GP role with extra responsibility, allowing progression to a much higher sessional rate. This Practice is an accredited Tier 2 sponsor. Salary – £9,500 – £12,500 per session+ + Indemnity insurance paid + NHS Pension + 6 weeks' annual leave + 1 week study leave. Location – Workington.

Your role –

• 4-8 sessions per week

• Minimal admin thanks to Clinical Pharmacists and efficient admin team

• To be a caring GP and enjoy working as part of a multi-skilled team
• No routine home visits!
• You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
