Salaried GP Opportunity 6 to 8 Sessions per Week (Flexible Hours)

We are a close-knit, well-respected team comprising two partners, three salaried GPs, and three ANPs, all supported by our wonderful PAs, Nursing, Healthcare team, all with the wrap-around support of the Admin and Reception Team. Our practice is based on one site in Wombwell, serving a diverse and vibrant community ofjust over10,000patients.

Job responsibilities

To provide high-quality medical care to registered and temporary patients in a primary care setting, managing a personal caseload and working professionally in line with Wombwell Medical Centre policies.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective medical care in line with the GMS contract

  • Safely prescribe according to local and national guidelines

  • Manage long-term conditions and process referrals and prescriptions promptly

  • Maintain accurate clinical records

  • Share workload fairly with the practice team

  • Follow clinical guidelines and participate in audits and quality improvement.

  • Support practice meetings, clinical governance, and training activities

  • Comply with appraisal and revalidation requirements

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and support GP registrar training

  • Promote teamwork and continuous improvement across the practice

  • Participate in local initiatives and incident reviews as needed

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • Fully qualified GP with current GMC registration
  • Completion of General Practice Vocational Training Scheme (or equivalent)
  • On the medical performers list
  • Up-to-date annual appraisal and revalidation, as appropriate
  • Enhanced DBS (CRB) check
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Current CPR certificate
  • UK work permit (if required)
  • Membership of a medical defence organisation
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Medical defence union cover
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable
  • A genuine enthusiasm for being an active, collaborative team member
