Job summary

Lakeside Healthcare Corby is recruiting a full-time Salaried GP with a view to Partnership to join our experienced primary care team in Corby. This is a unique opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced GPs to develop their career within a supportive organisation that values high-quality patient care and team collaboration.

We offer a salary between £85,000 and £95,000 FTE based on 9 sessions per week, NHS Pension, generous leave, and a clear path to Partnership.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in General Practice in the NHS.
• Willing to complete appropriate training for appraisal and revalidation.
• Experience or interest in GP education or appraisal is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake surgery consultations, telephone consultations and home visits as per timetable.
• Sign repeat prescriptions and manage referrals and correspondence.
• Develop care plans, provide counselling and health education.
• Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
• Work with multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality primary care.

Lakeside Healthcare is seeking to recruit a full-time Salaried GP with a view to Partnership to join our well-established and supportive primary care team in Corby. This is an exciting opportunity for either a newly qualified or experienced GP to develop their career within a progressive organisation, delivering high-quality patient care alongside a friendly and experienced multidisciplinary team committed to providing outstanding care for our patients.

• Salary £85,000 - £95,000 FTE, based on 9 sessions (8 clinical and 1 CPD) per week
• NHS Pension, 30 days annual leave plus 10 statutory holidays per-annum pro-rated

Main duties of the job

In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care including but not limited to: -

• In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner.
• Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
• Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
• Providing counselling and health education.
• Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
• Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.

Job responsibilities

The salaried GP will be responsible for delivering the full range of primary care services as part of the practice ensuring the highest standards of care for the differing needs of our patient population. The salaried GP will work closely with the practices multi-disciplinary team of other GPs, nurses and non clinical staff to provide a high quality and accessible service to patients. Knowledge and Skills

Essential

• Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, face to face and active listening skills.
• Recognise peoples needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly.
• Computer skills; Microsoft Word and e-mail
