Job summary

Holmside Medical Group is seeking to recruit a 4-6 session Salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive and ambitious team.

We are a modern, forward thinking, Outstanding CQC rated training practice serving approximately 10,000 patients in Newcastle upon Tyne. We provide care to a diverse population with a wide range of health needs, offering a varied and rewarding workload. Our team is passionate about delivering high quality patient care, supporting professional development, and making a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of our local community every day.

We are looking for a GP who wants to be part of a team where every member of staff is valued, listened to and supported. We genuinely believe the best ideas can come from anyone, and we actively encourage our clinicians to help shape the future direction of the practice.

We are willing to wait for the right person because finding somebody who shares our values is more important than simply filling a vacancy.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to the registered practice population in line with the GMS contract. Responsibilities include the assessment, diagnosis and management of acute and long-term conditions; safe and effective prescribing in accordance with local and national guidance; undertaking telephone triage and duty doctor sessions on a rotational basis; managing referrals, repeat prescriptions and associated clinical administration; and maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.

The post holder will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, share practice workload equitably, contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and QOF achievement, and support the ongoing development of practice services. They will be expected to participate in practice meetings, appraisal and revalidation processes, maintain their own continuing professional development, support the training of healthcare students, and contribute to the achievement of the practice's strategic objectives whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
