Job summary

Newtown Medical Practice in Wigan is seeking a salaried GP to join us for 4 sessions per week, on a 12-month contract.

You will work as part of a friendly team including GP Partners, Practice Nurses and Admin staff, delivering surgeries, telephone and online consultations, home visits and baby clinics.

The post includes NHS pension enrolment and 6 weeks annual leave.

Responsibilities

• Surgery consultations.
• Telephone consultations.
• Online consultations.
• Home visits.
• Duty day.
• Baby clinic.
• Patient queries.
• Checking and signing repeat prescriptions.
• Checking and actioning blood results.
• Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
• Contribute to new ideas and be part of the Practice team.

Job description

Newtown Medical Practice is looking for a salaried GP, who can join us for 4 sessions per week, Thursdays and Fridays, on a 12 month contract.

We are a friendly supportive team, consisting of GP Partners, Salaried GP, Practice Nurses, HCA and a Reception team. We are part of Wigan Central PCN. With additional staff such as FCP’s, Care home team, Care Co-ordinators, Community Link Workers, Mental health team and Pharmacists.

Newtown Medical Practice has a list size of approx. 6,100 patients. We are in purpose built premises.

Main duties:

• Surgery consultations.

• Online consultations.
• Home visits.
• Duty day.
