We are a welcoming and supportive General Practice team. We embrace modern models of General Practice and new digital technologies and are open to change as opportunities arise.
Patient continuity and providing care to a rural population based on traditional practice values are at the heart of our service.
Wallingbrook Health Group offers dispensing services across 2 sites: Chulmleigh and Winkleigh branch surgery. Chulmleigh site is a purpose-built building with an outside garden seating area for breaks. Our branch surgery is seven miles away in the village of Winkleigh. The branch surgery is undergoing modernisation and development to provide additional consulting rooms.
We are part of Mid Devon Healthcare Primary Care Network (PCN), which is a group of four practices serving a population of 34,000 patients. Whilst there is no OOH commitment, we can offer opportunities to be involved in PCN Extended Access delivery at weekends.
Work-life balance is important to us. We structure our workload to allow time to care whilst still being able to manage day-to-day demand. We run a total triage system on SystmOne, which allows more flexibility on how the day is managed. The majority of our home visits are carried out by our experienced paramedic. We maintain our working hours between 8 am – 6.30 pm and are happy to agree on a slightly later start or earlier finish. We do not expect our team to work late into the evenings.
We pride ourselves on being a supportive practice, with an open-door policy amongst staff to discuss complex patients or issues. We provide mentoring to newly qualified GPs and would be happy to do so for others if needed.
