Job summary

Central Surgery, a practice within St Helens Central PCN, is recruiting a salaried GP for four sessions across Monday and Tuesday. The role involves face-to-face, telephone and home-visit consultations, duty days, repeat prescriptions and blood result reviews.

Entry requires GMC registration and inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List. The post offers opportunities for professional development and flexible working within a supportive MDT.

Responsibilities

• Surgery consultations and telephone/online consultations
• Home visits and duty days
• Signing repeat prescriptions and reviewing blood results
• Autonomous clinical decisions within clinic policies
• Assessing, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illness
• Making referrals to secondary care and community services
• Maintaining accurate electronic patient records
• Engaging in clinical governance, audits and quality improvement

Job description

A salaried GP post at Central Surgery, a practice within the St Helens Central PCN, for four sessions across Monday and Tuesday. The practice has a list of about 6,500 patients and shares purpose-built premises with three other GP surgeries and several other services. Entry needs current GMC registration and inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.

• Making autonomous clinical decisions on presenting problems, including those referred by other staff

• Keeping accurate, complete clinical records on the practice clinical system
• Taking part in clinical governance, audits and quality improvement
