Are you looking for a GP job in a friendly, fun yet dynamic practice within an easy commute from South Glasgow and most of Ayrshire? Loudoun Medical Practice is based in Darvel, East Ayrshire, in the picturesque Irvine Valley. Our core opening hours are 8.30am-5.30pm with an earlier finish available when not on call. We have a mix of face to face and telephone appointments plus e-consultation and most clinicians have their own tailored template to suit them. We currently have 3 partners and two salaried GP’s covering a practice population of just over 7,100. The practice has a brilliant nursing team including our Clinical Nurse Manager, 3 GPNs, 2 CTAC nurses and an HCA plus a very experienced management and admin team. The practice is also extremely well supported by and have fantastic working relationships with our District Nurses, Health Visitors, our Health Board employed Pharmacy Team, Mental Health Practitioner, Community Link Worker, and Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner as well as the wider HSCP and third sector. We also train 3 rd Year medical students from Glasgow University.

Our templates are in line with the BMA guidance for safety and the well-being of our team is of paramount importance to us. We strive for high attainment in Quality Improvement activities including prescribing projects, patient safety and health promotion. We normally do activities at Protected Learning Time involving the entire practice team together, and have regular Palliative Care and Child Protection meetings.

We are interested in hearing from both qualified GP’s and also those due to CCT soon and encourage anyone who might interested in the job to come for a cuppa and a chat to meet some of our team. We are ideally looking to cover 8-10 sessions, so would be looking for either one full time GP or two part time GP’s, but are open to accommodating a different amount of sessions for the right candidate(s).
