A supportive GP training practice in Leamington Spa is seeking a friendly, motivated Salaried GP for 4 sessions per week. The role involves delivering high-quality clinical care and supporting GP trainees in a collaborative environment, emphasizing teamwork and patient-centered practices. We are seeking a friendly, motivated Salaried GP to join our supportive 7,000-patient training practice in Leamington Spa for 4 sessions per week (ideally Thursday & Friday).
You will work alongside two GP partners and a close-knit clinical and administrative team, delivering high-quality, patient-focused care. As a training practice, a key part of your role will be debriefing and supporting GP trainees, sharing your expertise and contributing to the next generation of doctors.
The role combines routine surgeries, duty doctor sessions, admin time, and occasional home visits (rare), with built-in CPD time each week. We pride ourselves on being high QOF achievers, committed to both clinical excellence and a positive working environment right down to our daily shared lunches.
This position can be offered as a salaried role or funded via the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).
Clinical Care
Provide safe, evidence-based care for acute and long-term conditions through face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations. Undertake occasional home visits (usually 02/day) and participate in the duty doctor rota for urgent cases and same-day requests. Manage prescriptions, test results, and clinical documentation. Contribute to QOF, enhanced services, and Primary Care Network activities. Participate in occasional extended hours (Saturday AM or weekday evenings). Support and debrief GP trainees, providing feedback and guidance.
Teamwork & SupervisionWork collaboratively with partners, nursing staff, trainees, and admin teams. Offer advice and support to colleagues, sharing knowledge to enhance patient care and service delivery.
Administrative ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate medical records in EMIS Web using appropriate coding. Complete referrals, sick notes, and clinical documentation promptly. Manage incoming documents, medication requests, and workflow tasks. Attend practice meetings and contribute to service improvement projects.
Professional Development & ComplianceKeep up to date with mandatory training and CPD. Maintain GMC registration and GP Performers List inclusion. Participate in annual appraisal and internal review. Work within all practice policies and clinical governance, including safeguarding, confidentiality, safe prescribing, and infection control.

The RoleWe are looking for a motivated and team-oriented GP to join us for 4 sessions per week (ideally Thursday & Friday, though Monday & Tuesday may be possible).
You will provide safe, evidence-based clinical care, contribute to QOF and enhanced services, and play an active role in supporting and debriefing GP trainees.
Session StructureSession length: 4 hours 10 minutes, including:
Clinical work (consultations, occasional home visits, phone calls)
Non-clinical/admin/CPD: 1 hour 10 minutes
2 dedicated admin slots
Duty doctor days: Availability 8:00am6:30pm (calls outside these hours are very rare)
Occasional extended hours to meet demand
Two sessions per day, ideally Thursday & Friday (alternative days considered)
Duty rota shared pro-rata with other doctors
Clinical:
Manage acute and chronic presentations for registered patients
Provide telephone consultations and occasional home visits (rare)
Participate in duty doctor cover, including urgent requests, results, prescriptions, and supporting colleagues
Contribute to extended hours services (occasional Saturday AM or evening clinic)
Debrief and support GP trainees as part of our training practice commitment
Administrative:
Manage your own results, prescriptions, and incoming documents
Keep clear, accurate records using Read/SNOMED coding
Use EMIS Web for referrals, certificates, and documentation
Attend practice meetings (within contracted hours)
Contribute to QOF, enhanced services, and PCN work streams
6 weeks annual leave + bank holidays (pro-rata)
1 week study leave per year (pro-rata) + CPD time built into sessions
TOIL available for mandatory in-house training
GMC-registered GP with MRCGP or equivalent

Current CPR certification and full medical defence cover
