Job overview

We are developing the Urgent Treatment services at NMGH. The UTC will be open 8am-10pm 365 days a year and will be staffed by GP’s and ENPs alongside support staff. They will be seeing patients with minor illness and minor injuries that would otherwise be seen in the main Emergency Department.

We have an exciting opportunity for GPs to work directly for MFT within the NMGH UTC.

The post holder will be a GP who will work within the UTC alongside the wider team in the ED. They will be passionate about delivering high quality urgent care to the local population whilst working to ensure effective performance of the UTC.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assessing and managing patients who present to the UTC with urgent primary care presentations, including carrying out appropriate investigations to aid with this.
  • Provide support to staff within the UTC and wider emergency department where required.
  • Deliver patient care in a high quality, safe and efficient manner.
  • Facilitate a smooth and efficient flow of patients through the UTC.
