Job description

An exciting opportunity to join a thriving and friendly Partnership as a Salaried GP for a fixed-term contract of one year to cover a maternity leave. We are a two-site dispensing Practice situated on the eastern edge of Exeter with 18,150 patients extending into the countryside of East Devon. We are looking for a list-holding GP working 4-6 sessions per week across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, to join our growing team.

This post includes the opportunity to lead and deliver care for asylum seekers housed in a local hotel – a vital and deeply rewarding service supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic and trauma-informed care.

This is a unique chance to make a meaningful impact while developing skills in migrant health, public health, and interagency collaboration.

About us:

  • Seven Partners, ten Salaried GPs and one Retainer GP.
  • Five Practice Nurses, one Nursing Associate and three HCAs.
  • An expanding multi-professional community team including: one Occupational Therapist, two Clinical Pharmacists, two Pharmacy Technicians, First Contact Physiotherapists, two Paramedic Practitioners, a Dietitian and two Care Coordinators.
  • Experienced Practice Management Team and a full complement of dispensary, reception and administrative staff who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.
  • Training and teaching Practice – ST1-4 and medical students Y1-5.
  • Active member of the Outer Exeter PCN.
  • EMIS Web Practice, utilising AccuRx, Ardens and Teamnet, with Dragon speech recognition software for dictations.
  • Social events in the Summer and at Christmas.
  • Thorough and kind induction.
  • GPs and other clinical colleagues meet and eat together each lunchtime fostering a supportive and friendly culture.

The sessions are required to be worked over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Days of work are dictated by room availability and staffing levels and unfortunately, we do not have any flexibility on this.
