Salaried GP - Fixed Term 12 months / Maternity Cover
We have an opportunity for a salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive, and well-organised team for a 12-month fixed period / maternity cover. The role involves covering 6 sessions over 3 days (must include a Friday), starting September 2025.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Undertake all normal duties associated with a GP working within primary care, including:
- Routine and duty doctor sessions, involving face-to-face consultations and telephone queries
- Visiting patients at home
- Checking and signing repeat prescriptions, dealing with lab results, queries, paperwork, and correspondence promptly

- 15-minute routine appointments over a 4-session system with protected admin time
- Appointments triaged by trained Healthcare Navigators, supported by clinicians
- On-the-day duty team includes ANPs, Paramedics, and GPs
- Offer appointments via face-to-face, telephone, video, and online
- Clinical team comprises 4 partners and 6 salaried GPs, supported by Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, Chronic Disease Nurses, and Pharmacists
- Highly trained administrative staff manage 90% of incoming documents
- Hold a good CQC rating (last inspected November 2023) with commendations for team ethos
- High QOF achievement
- Training practice with GP Registrars, FY Doctors, Medical Students, and Student Nurses
- Collaborative work within our Primary Care Network for Extended Access hours
- Single site surgery serving 13,050 patients
- EMIS Web system with electronic links to hospitals and pharmacies, plus online booking
Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Perform all normal duties of a GP within primary care, including face-to-face and telephone consultations, home visits, and administrative tasks
Other Responsibilities within the Organisation:
- Adhere to all relevant Practice policies and guidelines
- Engage in lifelong learning and audit to ensure evidence-based practice
- Participate in evaluation, audit, and setting clinical standards
- Attend relevant training and events organized by the Practice or other agencies
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practise and inclusion on the GP Register
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / CEGPR, or equivalent
- Included on a Medical Performers List or eligible
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- MRCGP qualification
- Evidence of specialist interests, development, or training
