Job summary

Birchington Medical Centre is seeking a Salaried GP to join a seven-practice group run by Invicta Health, a non-profit community interest company. You will assess and treat a patient population of just under 9,000, work with ACPs and nurses, and contribute to teaching as the practice aims to become a training site.

The role emphasizes high-quality, guideline-driven care, patient-centred teamwork and integration with local services. GMC registration with CCT is required.

Qualifications

• Be on GMC GP register with CCT completed.
• Successful completion of MRCGP or equivalent.
• Hold Vocational Training Certificate (VTC) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, advice and treatment for the registered practice population.
• Deliver a broad range of general primary care services in a patient-centred, team-based way.
• Coordinate and direct day-to-day care delivery by the clinical team.
• Provide clinical support to staff to meet high standards of care and QOF/Enhanced Services targets.
• Prescribe in line with national and local guidelines.
• Maintain accurate consultation records on EMIS.
• Share knowledge within the practice to optimise patient care.
• Collaborate with Invicta Health and other providers to deliver integrated care.

Job description

Salaried GP post at Birchington Medical Centre, one of seven practices run by Invicta Health, a non-profit community interest company. The GP provides general medical assessment and treatment to a practice of just under 9,000 patients, many with complex conditions, working alongside ACPs, nurse practitioners and a home visiting team. The six-session role suits a GP with an interest in teaching, and the practice hopes to become a training practice. Applicants must be on the GMC GP register with a CCT.

What the job involves

• Provide comprehensive assessment, advice and treatment for the registered practice population
• Provide a wide range of general primary care medical services in a non-judgemental, patient-centred, team-based way
• Coordinate and direct the day-to-day delivery of care by the clinical team
• Give clinical support to clinical and administrative staff to meet high standards of care and QOF and Enhanced Services targets
• Prescribe in line with national and local evidence-based guidelines
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive consultation records on EMIS
• Share knowledge and experience within the practice to optimise patient care
• Work with practice and administrative staff at Invicta Health to ensure high standards of care
• Work with other health and social care providers to deliver a safe, integrated service
• Engage with local and national initiatives to improve and coordinate sustainable healthcare provision

Qualifications

• Name on the GMC GP register under article 10 of the 2003 Order
• Completed certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
• Passed the MRCGP or equivalent
• Vocational training certificate or equivalent experience

Registration & licences

• On a performers list and not suspended from it or the medical register
• Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983

Experience

• Experience in practice as a GP or locum GP
• Up-to-date understanding of modern primary care in urgent care and community settings
