Job summary

Boultham Park Medical Practice in Lincoln is recruiting a Salaried GP on a 12-month fixed-term contract with a view to permanency. The GP will work autonomously delivering medical care in a busy practice, with 15-minute face-to-face appointments and rotating telephone triage and duty doctor duties across six sessions (Mon/Wed/Thu).

The role includes training support for medical students, participation in clinical governance, regular supervision, and opportunities to become a trainer.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration.
• Registered on the Performers List as a General Practitioner.
• Awareness of GMC Good Medical Practice and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver medical care under the GMS contract.
• Work as an autonomous practitioner, adhering to GMC Good Medical Practice.
• Prescribe generically and manage long-term conditions per guidelines.
• Process referrals and repeat prescriptions promptly.
• Share the rotational telephone triage and duty doctor rota.
• Keep accurate clinical records and audit practice protocols.
• Contribute to clinical governance and training of medical students.

Job description

Salaried GP post at Boultham Park Medical Practice, a Foundation Programme training practice, on a 12-month fixed-term contract with a view to permanent. The GP works autonomously to deliver medical care to the practice population under the GMS contract, with 15-minute face-to-face appointments and rotating telephone triage and duty doctor work. Six sessions run across Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, supported by a GP buddy system and PCN ARRS staff. Full GMC registration and Performers List entry are required.

What the job involves

• Deliver highly effective medical care to the practice population under the GMS contract
• Work as an autonomous practitioner, adhering to GMC Good Medical Practice and leading by example
• Prescribe generically and manage long-term conditions in line with local and national guidance
• Process administration promptly, including referrals and repeat prescriptions
• Share the rotational telephone triage and duty doctor rota
• Keep accurate clinical records
• Take an equal share of the workload and follow clinical guidelines, audit and practice protocols
• Hold delegated responsibility for a QOF area or areas
• Contribute to continuous improvement, clinical governance and practice meetings
• Support the training of medical students and promote CPD across the practice team
• Complete appraisal and revalidation
• Advise the partners on strategy to raise income and reduce expenditure
