Job summary

South Street Surgery is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team at Ilkeston Health Centre.

We are a small practice with a list size of around 4,000 patients, keen to welcome a GP who can cover 4–6 sessions per week and undertake the full scope of general practice duties while supporting ongoing development of the practice.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Included on NHS England Medical Performers List, or eligible for inclusion.
• Qualified GP with MRCGP or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Additional relevant postgraduate qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the full range of general practice duties.
• Work approximately 4–6 sessions per week with flexibility for the right candidate.
• Support ongoing development of the practice and contribute to service improvements.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and information governance in all duties.

Following changes within our GP team, including the planned retirement of one of our long-standing GPs, we are looking for a Salaried GP who would like to become an important part of the future of our practice.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Salaried GP for approximately 4 to 6 sessions per week, with flexibility for the right candidate. The postholder will undertake the full range of general practice duties.

We are keen to support individual clinical interests and would welcome someone who would like to become involved in the ongoing development of the practice.

Qualifications

Essential

• Full GMC registration with licence to practice.
• Included on the NHS England Medical Performers List, or eligible for inclusion.
• Qualified GP with MRCGP or equivalent recognised qualification.

Desirable

• Additional relevant postgraduate qualifications.

Experience

Essential

• Experience of working in UK General Practice.
• Previous experience as a Salaried GP.
• Ability to manage a varied primary care workload safely and independently.

Desirable

• Experience of working within a multidisciplinary primary care team.

Professional

Essential

• Commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining revalidation requirements.
• Understanding of confidentiality, information governance and clinical governance.
• Reliable, flexible and able to contribute positively to the practice team.

Desirable

• Interest in service development and quality improvement.
• Interest in teaching and training.
• Interest in research.

IT & Organisation

Essential

• Good general IT skills and ability to use electronic clinical records
• Good organisational and time-management skills
