Thirsk Doctors Surgery is offering a fantasticopportunity for a newly qualified or experienced salaried GP to join ourwell-organised and friendly practice. We are expanding our GP team due to agrowing list size and looking for 4-6 sessions cover per week.

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, eConsultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

We currently have 8100 registeredpatients, have 15 minute appointments and a low home-visit rate. We dispense toapproximately 1/3rd of patients.

Ourmedical team is currently made up of 5 Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 1 PhysicianAssociate, 1 ANP and 4 GP Registrars. We have 3 Practice nurses, a nurse associate and 2 HCAs. Weare supported by PCN Pharmacists and Care-Coordinators. We have a largeadministration, reception and dispensary team to offer support to GPs whererequired.
Weoffer a range of dedicated clinics including for chronic disease- diabetes,Asthma/COPD, Heart Failure clinics. We offer a full range of Minor Ops andImplant/Coil Fitting and have Ring Pessary Clinics.
Wehold monthly practice meetings, partners meetings, Vulnerable Adult,Safeguarding and GSF Meetings. We have a 3 monthly audit meetings and every 4months we hold our own in-house staff training afternoon.
Weput lots of emphasis on nurturing the team and there is an active social diarywith some favourite events including a practice Scavenger Hunt and going to dothe Bake off experience in Leeds.

Actioning a share of blood results andincoming clinical documents, both paper and electronic.
Making professional, autonomous decisions inrelation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from otherhealth care workers.
Assessing the health care needs of patientswith undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screening patients for disease risk factorsand early signs of illness.
Developing care plans for health inconsultation with patients and in line with current practice disease managementprotocols.
Referring to other care providers asappropriate.
Recording clear and contemporaneousconsultation notes to agreed standards.
Prescribing in accordance with the localor practice prescribing formularywhenever this is clinically appropriate.
Pro-rata share of on-call.
Awareness of and compliance with all relevantpractice policies/guidelines, e.g., prescribing, confidentiality, dataprotection, significant reviews and health and safety.
A commitment to life-long learning and auditto ensure evidence-based best practice.
Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinicalstandard setting within the organisation.
Contributing to the development ofcomputer-based patient records.

Allstaff are to recognise the significance of collaborative working. Teamwork isessential in multidisciplinary environments. Effective communication isessential, and all staff must ensure they communicate in a manner which enablesthe sharing of information in an appropriate manner.
ServiceDelivery
Staffat Thirsk Doctors Surgery must adhere to the information contained withpractice policies and regional directives, ensuring protocols are alwaysadhered to. Staff will be given detailed information during the inductionprocess regarding policy and procedure.
Security
Thesecurity of the practice is the responsibility of all personnel. Staff mustensure they always remain vigilant and report any suspicious activityimmediately to their line manager. Under no circumstances are staff to sharethe codes for the door locks to anyone and are to ensure that restricted areasremain effectively secured.
ProfessionalConduct
At Thirsk Doctors Surgery, staff are requiredto dress appropriately for their role. Administrative and Nursing staff will beprovided with a uniform whilst staff on the GP timetable must dress inaccordance with their role. This can be uniform, non-uniform or scrubs, aspreferred.

Complies with safeguarding training requirementsas set out by employment terms and any relevant professional and nationalbodies

Thisdocument may be amended following consultation with the post holder, tofacilitate the development of the role, the practice, and the individual. Allpersonnel should be prepared to accept additional, or surrender existingduties, to enable the efficient running of the practice.
