Job summary

The Cornerstone Practice in March (Fenland) seeks a salaried GP to join a busy team providing general medical services to registered and temporary patients. You will balance face-to-face and remote consultations, review results, prescribe, and refer as needed, while maintaining thorough records and contributing to audits.

You will work 4–8 sessions per week with Friday mandatory. The practice uses SystmOne and serves about 9,500 patients, supported by a diverse clinical team and allied services.

Qualifications

  • Primary medical qualification recognised by the GMC.
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Entry on the GMC GP Register.
  • Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
  • Eligible to work as a GP in the UK.
  • Appropriate medical indemnity arrangements.
  • Able to assess and manage patients independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients with new, ongoing and undiagnosed conditions.
  • Make independent clinical decisions within their competence.
  • Agree treatment and care plans with patients.
  • Prescribe safely and in line with local and national guidance.
  • Provide health advice and support patients to manage their conditions.
  • Refer patients to other services when appropriate.
  • Review results, letters, reports and prescription requests.
  • Undertake home visits when clinically necessary.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
  • Complete clinical administration within an agreed timescale.
  • Support prevention, screening and long-term condition management.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and patient safety.
  • Take part in clinical meetings, audit and learning.
  • Provide cover for colleagues during planned or unexpected absence.
  • Carry out duties of a salaried GP in general practice.

Job description

4 to 8 sessions per week, New Post, Friday working essential, You will provide general medical services to registered and temporary patients as part of the practice clinical team. Our team includes GP partners, salaried GPs, advanced practitioners, treatment room nurses, healthcare assistants, a mental health practitioner and an experienced reception and administration team. We also work with pharmacy, physiotherapy and social prescribing colleagues. We want this to be a practice where people can ask for help, speak honestly and have a life outside work. We cannot promise quiet days in general practice, but we can promise colleagues who understand the pressures and support one another through them.

The salary is £12,000 per session per annum, based on the number of contracted sessions worked each week: We look after approximately 9,500 patients and use SystmOne. Our clinical team includes GP partners, salaried GPs, advanced practitioners, treatment room nurses, healthcare assistants and a mental health practitioner. We also work with pharmacy, physiotherapy and social prescribing colleagues, supported by an experienced reception and administration team. We are based in March, a Fenland market town with direct rail services to Ely, Cambridge and Peterborough. An immediate start is available, but we are happy to wait for the right person.
