Job description

We are looking for a Salaried GP for 6 sessions per week.

We are a friendly, forward-thinking city centre practice (approx. 13,500 patients) with a diverse patient population. We are college doctors to eight of the Oxford colleges.

Main duties of the job

We are a supportive team of 6 GP Partners and 5 salaried GPs, with a strong and expanding nursing team, 3 experienced paramedic practitioners, a pharmacist, and a physiotherapist. We are well supported by our friendly and efficient patient advisory, administration, and management teams. We are high performers through QoF and other enhanced services, with excellent patient feedback.

About us

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and committed GP joining our well-organized practice, working within a multi-professional team, and gaining valuable skills in a supportive and professional environment.

We are a teaching and training practice, with excellent feedback from our learners, including medical students from the University of Oxford. We are a training practice for GP trainees and foundation year doctors, actively involved in research as an NIHR-approved research practice.

Located in the heart of Oxford in a new, purpose-built premises, we are adjacent to KES@Northgate. Our practice has expanded following the merger of the 27 and 28 Beaumont Street practices.

We have strong relationships with the other practices in our Oxford Central PCN and collaborate closely. We are building our team of healthcare professionals within the PCN.

Job responsibilities

Our practice is managed by our Head of Business Administration & Finance, with a strong and expanding nursing team, 3 experienced paramedic practitioners, a clinical pharmacist, and a physiotherapist. Northgate has a broad clerical support team, a friendly patient advisory team, and an efficient patient administration team. We also have an Executive Assistant supporting our management team.
