Job summary

The Hadleigh Practice is seeking a salaried GP to join a training practice serving approximately 20,500 patients across two sites. The role involves managing a patient list, long‑term conditions, and involvement in registrar and medical student teaching.

GMC registration is required along with a CCT or equivalent and National Performers List entry. The post offers support for CPD and a collaborative working culture.

Qualifications

• Qualified GP with a Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent.
• General Practitioner CCT.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highly effective medical care to the entitled population under the GMS contract.
• Manage a patient list with delegated responsibility for it.
• Manage long‑term conditions effectively.
• Prescribe generically in line with local and national guidance.
• Process referrals, repeat prescriptions and other administration promptly.
• Undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles on a rotational basis.

Job description

A salaried GP post at The Hadleigh Practice, a training practice across two sites serving about 20,500 patients. The GP holds a patient list and handles a broad range of primary care needs, including long-term conditions, generic prescribing, referrals and rotational telephone triage. The post is for 4 to 6 sessions a week and includes supporting registrars and medical students. Full GMC registration, a CCT or equivalent and National Performers List entry are required.

What the job involves

• Deliver highly effective medical care to the entitled population under the GMS contract
• Manage a patient list with delegated responsibility for it
• Manage long‑term conditions effectively
• Prescribe generically in line with local and national guidance
• Process referrals, repeat prescriptions and other administration promptly
• Undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles on a rotational basis
• Keep accurate clinical records
• Share an equal part of the practice workload
• Follow clinical guidelines and take part in audit and quality initiatives
• Support the training of medical students from all disciplines
• Complete appraisal and revalidation, and attend practice meetings
• Support partners with strategic aims, including recommendations to raise income and reduce costs
