Job description

City Walls Medical Centre is seeking a newly qualified General Practitioner (GP) to join our team on a fixed-term salaried contract until 30th September 2025. This role is funded through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) and is available to all GPs who have qualified within the last two years. The position involves four sessions per week, scheduled on Thursdays and Fridays, with flexible start and end times to be agreed upon. We are keen to begin the recruitment process and aim to establish a start date at the earliest convenience.

The clinical sessions will include a reduced workload to align with the expectations of a newly qualified GP. To facilitate the GPs' transition into the role, they will generate their own administrative work, there will be no duty GP responsibilities, and a mentor will be available for support.

At City Walls Medical Centre, we use the EMIS Web clinical system and have a dedicated administrative team to support with letters, referrals, results, and medication management.

Application Process: We encourage early applications as we reserve the right to close the application process early. For more information about this role, please contact us.

Main duties of the job

  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Develop care plans in consultation with patients, following practice disease management protocols.
  • Record clear consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collect data for audit purposes and comply with Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) requirements.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Participate in a Quality Improvement Project.
