Our Pharmacists assist with discharge summaries and prescription requests to lighten the GP load.
We do not operate an On Call Duty Doctor system.
In accordance with the job plan, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
Screening patients for disease risk factors.
In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
Homestead Medical Centre is looking for a motivated, caring, and enthusiastic candidate to help shape the future of our Practice and join our evolving team.
We are looking for a 6 sessions salaried GP to work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We would be interested to hear from both experienced and new graduates from the VTS.
We are a PMS practice with a list size of 8,900. You will be joining our fantastic clinical team of 3 Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 3 Practice Nurses and a Phlebotomist. Our clinicians are supported by an admin team of 12 with roles including receptionist care navigators, admin clerks and a prescription clerk.
Job Summary
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
