Thomas Franks Ltd in Farnborough is hiring a General Assistant/Salad Chef for a term-time contract. The role offers 37.5 hours weekly at £14.20 per hour, with shifts from 7:00am to 2:30pm. The position is full-time and permanent, with on-site parking and duties in a busy school kitchen.

Applicants should have catering experience and be able to work 38 weeks a year, with occasional evenings or Saturdays for events. The role emphasises hygiene, teamwork and superb customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced catering environment preferred.
• Ability to work 7:00am–2:30pm shifts during term time.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with preparation and making of salads.
• Prepare service areas for daily meals.
• Prepare, set up, serve, clear and store food, beverages or equipment.
• Restock and replenish stocks; manage wastage during service.
• Maintain food hygiene and allergen control procedures.
• Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for events and functions.
• Adhere to company food standards and safety policies.

Hours: 37.5 per week

A boys independent day school with a co-ed 6th form in Farnborough. Catering for 500 students and 80 teachers. We offer a core feeding of an extensive Lunch offering with grab & go options along with the main food offer. There will be some hospitality offering at this location. This is a term time only contract working 38 weeks a year. This school operates Monday to Friday with match teas in the AM on Saturdays and has an additional benefit of Free on site parking.

Shift timings 7:00am till 2:30pm

The hourly rate is £14.20 working 37.5 hours per week and 39 week per year including holidays

We have a fantastic opportunity for you as General Assistant/ Salad Chef to join one of our fantastic locations in Farnborough.

You will ideally have previous experience of working within a fast-paced catering environment.

You will enjoy what you do, working with a great team, for a company fanatical about food serving wonderful customers.

Key Responsibilities

• To support the team with preperation and making of salads, replenishing stocks, cleaning.
• Prepare all service areas for the days business relating to that meal service.
• Prepare, set-up, serve, clear, clean and store away any food, beverage or equipment required for special functions.
• Prepare basic food for sale/service, following good hygiene and safety practices and to the standard specified.
• Restock and replenish stocks and consumables as required during service periods, pre-empt customer needs and achieve optimum customer service delivery.
• Empty, remove and store rubbish / recycle rubbish in the correct place.
• Be prepared to occasionally work evening and/or weekend for functions and school events.
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
