Job Description:

We are currently looking to hire a Workplace Health & Safety Technician to join the team and play a critical role in supporting the Amazon Logistics Operational teams onsite. We seek an independent individual who can also be a team player with the current WHS team members.

The successful candidate will be experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed, passionate about safety, and capable of driving strategy to create an engaging and safe environment. They will identify, coordinate, and drive safety improvements while engaging operational and support stakeholders. Flexibility regarding travel and working hours is essential due to the fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assist with risk assessments and follow-up on control measures
  • Advise associates and managers on company procedures and legal requirements within the Technician knowledge level
  • Monitor compliance with safety procedures at the station
  • Assist in incident investigations to establish root causes and develop action plans
  • Maintain records related to incidents, near misses, and accidents
  • Produce weekly safety reports
  • Participate in monthly health and safety meetings
  • Conduct projects to identify hazards and assess risks
  • Ensure compliance with legislation through action plans
  • Maintain confidentiality in safety investigations
  • Oversee Dock and Yard safety procedures
  • Monitor Smart Handling safety procedures
  • Deliver EHS training sessions for managers and staff

Basic qualifications:
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • NVQ Level 3 in occupational safety or NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience with metrics reporting, data analysis, and problem identification
  • Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in logistics, operations, warehouse, or customer service environments
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
