Job summary

Amazon UK Services Ltd. - A10 is seeking a Safety Technician to help keep our workforce safe and well on site. You will monitor operations, perform risk assessments, and support in implementing new safety measures across our Fulfilment Centres.

You’ll work night shifts and collaborate with Operations to analyze safety data, generate reports, and guide colleagues on best practices. This is a hands-on role at a global company with a strong focus on continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Basic Health and Safety certification required (NVQ3 or NEBOSH).
• Experience running metrics reports and analyzing data to identify problems.

Key job responsibilities

• Carry out risk assessments and audits

• Work with colleagues in Operations and across the business on safety-related tasks and offer guidance on processes
• Support in putting new safety measures in place

A day in the life

You’ll be based at one of our sites. This means that you can closely track what’s happening and people can easily ask you any questions throughout their shifts. This role is all about spotting potential issues before they happen. You’ll spend a lot of time checking the site and getting to know the way that people use equipment. By understanding how every task and machine works, you’ll be able to think about the best way to keep processes safe.

You’ll also be one of the people to put safety changes into action, which means you’ll get to work closely with lots of people. Alongside your daily and weekly tasks, you’ll offer support to our Operations team on ad-hoc safety-related work.

Safety is so important to Amazon, and you’ll help us gather the vital data that keeps us on top of our processes and ahead of any issues. You’ll also share that data with people across the business and work with other teams to make sure they’re putting safety first.

We’re based in Fulfilment Centres, which are at the heart of Amazon’s fast-paced Operations network. Our centres are sometimes referred to as the ‘First Mile’ because it’s where most Amazon packages start their journey. We help to manage dynamic inventory and facilitate speedy deliveries round the clock.

Lots of different people work in our Fulfilment Centres, so there are plenty of opportunities for every skillset. Some of us work with physical products, while others analyse data to help everyone across the business make smart decisions.

Basic Qualifications

• A Health and Safety NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent)
• Experience running metrics reports, analyzing data to identify problems and using data analysis to generate and explain metrics
• Advanced proficiency in the local language (C1 Common European Framework of Reference, CEFR)
