Job summary

Amazon UK Services Ltd. – A10 is seeking a Safety Technician to help keep workplaces safe and well. You will work with safety experts to monitor sites, perform risk assessments, and create reports that track safety metrics across the site.

You will collaborate with Operations and other colleagues to implement safety measures, respond to issues, and provide data-driven guidance to improve processes. This entry-level role offers exposure to a global safety program and opportunities to develop

Qualifications

A day in the life

You'll be based at one of our sites. This means that you can closely track what's happening and people can easily ask you any questions throughout their shifts. This role is all about spotting potential issues before they happen. You'll spend a lot of time checking the site and getting to know the way that people use equipment. By understanding how every task and machine works, you'll be able to think about the best way to keep processes safe. You'll also be one of the people to put safety changes into action, which means you'll get to work closely with lots of people. Alongside your daily and weekly tasks, you'll offer support to our Operations team on ad-hoc safety-related work. Safety is so important to Amazon, and you'll help us gather the vital data that keeps us on top of our processes and ahead of any issues. You'll also share that data with people across the business and work with other teams to make sure they're putting safety first.

About the team

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team plays a crucial role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. Our team works with managers, associates and local governments across our sites, ensuring compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, and guaranteeing the safety of our work environments. The team offers a variety of opportunities, from Safety Technicians to Programme Managers. Regardless of your role, you'll contribute to the development and implementation of the safety strategy across the entire network.

Basic Qualifications
  • - NEBOSH (National General Certificate), or NVQ Level 3
  • - Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
  • - Relevant experience using data analysis to generate and explain metrics.
  • - Knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
Preferred Qualifications

  • - Experience with Lean, 5S or Kaizen methodologies.
  • - Experience planning or managing environmentally conscious initiatives.
