DESCRIPTION

This position requires flexibility to work night shifts and weekends.

We are currently hiring a Workplace Health & Safety Technician to support the Amazon Logistics operational teams onsite. The ideal candidate is an independent team player, experienced, innovative, customer-obsessed, and passionate about safety. They will drive safety strategies, identify improvements, and engage stakeholders across operations.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Assist with risk assessments and follow-up control measures
  2. Advise associates and managers on company procedures and legal requirements
  3. Monitor compliance with safety procedures
  4. Investigate incidents, establish root causes, and develop action plans
  5. Maintain records of incidents, near misses, and accidents
  6. Produce weekly safety reports
  7. Participate in monthly safety meetings
  8. Identify hazards through project work and information gathering
  9. Ensure compliance with legislation through action plans
  10. Maintain confidentiality in safety investigations
  11. Monitor Dock, Yard, and Smart Handling safety procedures
  12. Conduct EHS training sessions for staff

Basic Qualifications
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • NVQ Level 3 in occupational safety or NEBOSH Certificate
  • Experience with metrics reporting and data analysis
  • Knowledge of UK Health & Safety Legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in logistics, warehouse, or customer-focused environments
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Positive team attitude and self-motivation
