Job summary

Unite Group, operating Unite Students, is hiring a Student Safety Team Member to cover night shifts at Piccadilly Point. The role focuses on safety, wellbeing, and welcoming students while you work with the team to maintain a calm, secure environment.

You will patrol, respond to incidents, and support students during late hours, building a sense of home. A competitive package with bonus and benefits is offered.

• Experience in a customer service role or residential environment is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Be a friendly face and first point of contact for students overnight.
• Ensure buildings and occupants are safe, responding calmly to incidents or emergencies.
• Help students feel welcome, respected, and cared for with empathy and professionalism.
• Work closely with day and night teams to ensure seamless handovers.
• Maintain tidy, safe, and well-kept spaces.
• Support wellbeing or welfare concerns and take action when needed.
• Act as a brand ambassador, living CARE principles: Connect, Act, Respect, Encourage.

Contract Type: Full time

Working hours: 4 days a week. 10pm-7am.

As a Student Safety Team Member, you`ll play a key part in keeping our students and buildings safe, comfortable, and welcoming throughout the night. You`ll be the reassuring presence that helps students feel supported, cared for, and at home. You`ll work closely with Student Safety Team Leader and your peers across the cluster, making a real impact every day. Every shift brings something different from doing safety patrols and updating Excel handovers, to responding to emails or supporting a student who needs help in the early hours. It`s a role where you`ll stay calm under pressure, connect with people, and make a real difference every night.

Your impact

• Be a friendly face and first point of contact for students who need support or reassurance overnight.
