Job summary

Unite Group in London East is seeking a Night Safety Team Member to help keep students and buildings safe overnight. You’ll be the reassuring presence, supporting residents and collaborating with the Night Operations Supervisor to ensure a calm, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include greeting students, handling incidents calmly, supporting wellbeing, coordinating handovers with day and night teams, and upholding CARE values: Connect, Act, Respect, and Encourage.

• Be the friendly face and first point of contact for students overnight.
• Safe handling of incidents or emergencies in the night-time environment.
• Support wellbeing and welfare matters with empathy and professionalism.
• Work with day and night teams to ensure seamless handovers.

• Take pride in maintaining tidy, safe, and well-kept spaces.
• Support with wellbeing or welfare matters, noticing when something isn`t right and taking action to help.

Location: London East

Contract Type: Permanent

Working hours: 22:00 to 07:00, working 3 days out 7. Weekends will be required on a rotational basis.

As a Student Safety Team Member, you`ll play a key part in keeping our students and buildings safe, comfortable, and welcoming throughout the night. You`ll be the reassuring presence that helps students feel supported, cared for, and at home. You`ll work closely with Night Operations Supervisor and your peers across the cluster, making a real impact every day. Every shift brings something different ?" from doing safety patrols and updating Excel handovers, to responding to emails or supporting a student who needs help in the early hours. It`s a role where you`ll stay calm under pressure, connect with people, and make a real difference every night.
