Job description

A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role: Reporting Triage & Assurance Administrator

Join the team at the heart of keeping British Airways safe, secure and resilient. The Corporate Safety & Security team plays a critical role in protecting our people, customers, operation and reputation by ensuring we maintain the highest standards of safety, security and regulatory compliance across the airline. As a Reporting Triage & Assurance Administrator, you'll be part of a team that supports the day-to-day operation of the British Airways Group Safety & Security Management System, helping to identify, assess and manage safety and security risks across a complex global operation. This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of operational areas while making a meaningful contribution to the safe and successful running of one of the world's leading airlines.

What you'll do
  • Perform the daily safety and security issue report triage function, including hazard and occurrence interpretation, analysis, classification and risk assessment.
  • Assign risk events, control models and workflow tasks to support effective risk management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting timescales, including CAA 376/2014, Mandatory Occurrence Reporting (MOR), RIDDOR, GDPR and other applicable regulations.
  • Chair and/or support daily Safety & Security Risk Triage meetings where required.
  • Deliver key administrative activities that support the Safety & Security Management System.
  • Support the delivery of assurance activities across the Corporate Safety & Security function.
  • Assist with corporate and operational risk management activities, investigations, resilience planning and escalations.
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams, regulators, partners and suppliers to support the effective management of safety and security risks.
What you'll bring to British Airways

You bring strong analytical thinking and a naturally curious mindset, enabling you to interpret information, assess risk and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Your communication and influencing skills allow you to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and adapt your approach to different audiences. You are comfortable managing competing priorities, working with ambiguity and maintaining focus in a dynamic operational setting. Your experience will be evident through your ability to solve problems, identify practical solutions and contribute positively to a strong safety culture. Qualities such as collaboration, resilience, dependability, confidence and agility will help you thrive in this role, while your commitment to keeping safety and security at the forefront of everything you do will make a valuable contribution to the wider airline.

Your experience
  • Relevant university degree and/or comparable operational experience (desirable).
  • Recognised training or qualifications in safety, security, risk management, culture, investigations, audit and/or regulatory disciplines (desirable).
  • Experience of British Airways risk management principles, industry regulations, standards and best practice (desirable).
  • Knowledge or experience of AIR and Tableau systems (desirable).
  • Experience working within a management system in a complex regulatory environment (desirable).
  • Strong influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and prioritisation capability.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of risk management principles and the use of data to support effective decision making
