No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

We'd like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We're a disability confident employer and we'll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That's why we support you to pursue a career that's unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you'll be doing

As part of the HPC Design Authority team, you will help shape the strategy for developing the nuclear safety case for commissioning and operation. This involves gaining a deep understanding of HPC's operations, assessing commissioning risks, and ensuring a comprehensive and clear safety justification. You will also lead the development of key safety case sub-sections related to commissioning systems, structures, and components.

In this role, responsibility includes specifying and coordinating the delivery of technical content that supports the nuclear safety case. This will require close collaboration with both internal and external suppliers to ensure all necessary information is gathered and effectively integrated. Additionally, strategies will be established to support governance and the successful implementation of the safety case.

Engagement with senior leaders and regulators will be a crucial aspect of this position. Strong communication and collaboration will be needed to drive the implementation of the safety justification, ensuring compliance and alignment with project objectives.

Who you are

Being a Safety Report Engineer at HPC means providing strong technical leadership in developing and implementing nuclear safety case strategies. You will have experience managing complex UK nuclear safety cases, ensuring clear justifications, and leading teams to deliver high-quality results. A strong understanding of nuclear safety and regulatory requirements is essential.

You'll work closely with internal and external regulators, presenting safety cases and incorporating feedback. The role requires collaboration across teams and disciplines, along with problem-solving skills to adapt to changing requirements and uncertainty.

We're looking for someone who can influence stakeholders, build strong relationships, and manage QA procedures and document control. Your ability to ensure compliance and drive collaboration will be key to success in this role.

If this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you!

Closing date for applications: 10th August 2025
