Overview

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Safety Manager to join a leading fit-out contractor on a landmark commercial refurbishment project in central London. This high-profile role will focus on delivering best-in-class safety standards on a large, complex project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement the project’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) strategy on site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure full compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and deliver site-specific inductions and safety training.
  • Lead incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action processes.
  • Engage proactively with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Monitor risk assessments and method statements, ensuring they are up to date and effectively communicated.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Safety Manager or similar HSE leadership role on large-scale construction or fit-out projects.
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Construction Certificate, NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
