About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team in Inverness. You will be responsible for evolving our Safety Management System to meet site needs and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead safety initiatives, develop training programs, and collaborate with other West Fraser Europe sites to promote safety best practices and achieve our health & safety objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and enhance the Safety Management System to meet site requirements and ensure legal compliance.
  2. Provide health & safety expertise and support to site personnel.
  3. Design and coordinate safety training programs.
  4. Collaborate with other West Fraser Europe sites to share best practices and implement safety strategies.
  5. Promote personal ownership of safety among employees.
  6. Develop a Process Safety Management System and foster a safety-focused culture.
  7. Lead high-risk employee management and scenario training.
  8. Conduct hazard and operability studies on critical processes and significant changes.
  9. Act as the Safety Steering Committee Owner, providing direction to leaders and subcommittees.
  10. Manage the change process for personal and process safety.
  11. Ensure timely delivery of safety reports and leading indicators.
About You:
  1. Proven experience as a Safety Manager, preferably in high-risk environments.
  2. Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and compliance.
  3. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  4. Experience in developing and implementing safety training programs.
  5. Experience with Process Safety Management Systems and hazard studies is desirable.
