Our client based in Wiltshire is looking for a Safety Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

As a member of the Engineering Team, you will provide Safety leadership, direction, and technical guidance to grow the Safety business area, support the strategic objectives, and deliver client-facing requirements.

The Safety Manager leads the development and growth of Safety capability within the business, ensuring the highest level of professional delivery and customer satisfaction. Working with fellow members of the Engineering Team and Capability Pillars, the Safety Manager identifies and captures opportunities for the business. As a highly competent Safety Manager, you will have in-depth knowledge of Acquisition and In-Service Safety within the Defence sector.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage the growth of the internal safety capability.
2. Identify business opportunities and lead/support activities to secure future business.
3. Provide business and technical advice to the Head of Engineering and Senior Management Team.
4. Ensure the highest quality of Safety outputs and outcomes for our clients.
5. Line management of individual consultants.
6. Keep abreast of leading technology, policy, process, and industry best practices.
7. Undertake assessments and critiques of Safety work, including assurance of relevant client-facing artefacts.

Experience required

• Knowledge and experience in Safety Case management, Hazard Logs, Safety Legislation, and Defence Safety Authority (DSA).
• Expert or Practitioner status in Safety disciplines. Certified knowledge of the Acquisition Safety and Environmental Management System (ASEMS).
• CEng professional qualification or relevant Safety equivalent, and membership of a relevant Professional Safety or Engineering Institute.
• Experience in a senior Safety role with Delegated Authority as a Senior Safety Representative (SSR).
• Proven ability to manage complex safety requirements within the Defence sector.

• Permanent role.
• Location: Wiltshire with home working available.
• Must be SC clearable.
• Salary: £65-£70k DOE.
