Job Description:

This SHE Advisor will report to the Lead SHE Advisor and work within UKPN Services, SHE based in Bury St Edmunds. This is a permanent position.

This role does not offer hybrid working; travel across multiple sites is required.

Salary: £65,241 plus car, benefits, and a 3% bonus.

Job Purpose:

Provide competent health, safety, and sustainability advice to promote the health and safety management system.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Provide SHE advice to advisors, managers, staff, contractors, and the public. Maintain strong safety relationships with clients to support electrical infrastructure.
  • Review and develop procedures, communicate changes, and interpret SHE policies, including those guided by the client.
  • Monitor compliance with SHE procedures and legal obligations.
  • Participate in SHE committees, risk management, and safety forums.
  • Assist management in setting goals, documenting strategies, and monitoring performance.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with SHE standards.
  • Engage with safety representatives and participate in audits and investigations.
  • Develop SHE training and communication materials and deliver SHE courses.
  • Review method statements and conduct inspections and audits.
  • Support incident investigations and monitor workplace facilities and transport arrangements.
  • Provide SHE reports and champion SHE management within the business.
Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or working towards)
  • IOSH Managing Your Environmental Responsibilities (or working towards)
  • Experience with SHE activities and operational competencies in UK Power Networks Services.

Must understand CDM 2015 Regulations and have a flexible approach to work, safety inspection experience, team skills, IT proficiency, valid UK driving license, and access passes.

Scope:
  • Provide SHE advice across the Eastern area and other sectors.
  • Represent the company externally and support colleagues.
  • Requires SHE experience and flexibility in problem-solving.
