Safety, Health & Environmental Business Partner (Hiring Immediately), Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire

This role involves nationwide travel and is based in Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire, UK. The position requires an EU work permit.

About the role

• Responsible for delivering the health, safety, and environmental risk strategy as set by the Head of Safety & Risk.
• Implementing ISO-certified safety and environmental management systems.
• Acting as the Subject Matter Expert for Smiths News on health and safety, environmental risk, and safety culture, including all road transport and operational yard safety at Smiths News and third-party locations.
• Owning the company's health and safety policies, training, and audit regimes to ensure effective management.
• Delivering Human Factors and Safety Culture Awareness programs to promote positive behaviors and a just safety culture.
• Maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders interested in safety and legal compliance, such as HSE, DVSA, local authorities, and trade bodies.
• Investigating incidents and accidents with trained colleagues and liaising with external stakeholders like emergency services and media when necessary.

About you

• At least Nebosh Level 3 or equivalent qualification
• Experience with ISO 45001 and integrated systems
• Auditing qualifications and experience
• Environmental risk management qualifications
• Extensive accident investigation experience, including root cause analysis
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• A valid UK driving license (company car may be provided)
