Job Description:

This role offers an opportunity to influence the future of safety for both people and property across the Council, supporting Hull City Council's Health, Safety, and Wellbeing objectives by ensuring safe working methods and premises for staff, service users, and others.

• Focused on Children and Young People's services, the post holder will help develop and implement health and safety programs, projects, and policies. They will provide advice and support to managers and staff on health and safety issues, conduct audits, and report on H&S performance across the Council.

• The role involves advising managers and employees on legal compliance, operational best practices, accident and ill health prevention, and coordinating visits by OFSTED, HSE, Fire, and Rescue services according to Council policies.

• Support will be provided to managers in preparing and implementing health and safety risk assessments, including quality assurance of these assessments.

• The role includes monitoring the Council's health and safety performance to identify trends and risks that are inadequately controlled.
