We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety, Health & Environment Manager within Vistry Services covering Leeds and surrounding areas. The SHE Manager position is a leading and influential role in establishing clear standards for SHE, developing a strategy that ensures these standards are successfully adopted and embedded throughout the organisation. Maintaining oversight of ongoing compliance and performance levels, establishing frameworks and driving engagement with senior stakeholders.

  • Keep up to date with and understand legal responsibilities regarding Safety Health & Environmental.
  • Manage and lead a team of Safety Health & Environmental professionals.
  • Provide specialist Safety Health & Environmental support to the organisation and its employees through advice, guidance, and support so far as reasonably practicable.
  • Provide suitable and sufficient SHE information to the BU in the form of briefings, regular SHE meetings, workshops, training, inductions (as per company procedures), presentations etc.
  • Review monthly SHE information as provided by the company database and discuss leading and lagging indicators, accident and incident information, inspection, and audit results with the SHE Advisor & Factory management team during regular SHE meetings.
  • Ensure all accidents and incidents are reported and entered into the database as per company procedure.
  • Ensure accidents and incidents are reported to regulatory bodies e.g. HSE where appropriate.
  • Take the lead on all accident and incident investigations deemed to be potentially serious in line with company procedures.
  • Monitor and review accidents and incidents on the company database on a regular basis and ensure all fields have been completed correctly, all actions have been followed up, all related documents have been uploaded to the incident file and the incident is closed out and signed off when complete as stated within the company SOP.
  • Monitor and review accidents and incidents to identify trends; consult with Factory Directors and Senior Leadership Team to agree corrective action.
