Job summary

MBDA is seeking a dynamic Safety, Health & Environmental Manager for the Henlow site. The role focuses on implementing SHE policies, driving continual improvement, and collaborating with Manufacturing and Security teams.

The position offers flexible working with on-site and remote days and a salary around £53,000 depending on experience. Applicants should have a Level 6 Diploma in OHS, significant SHE manufacturing experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (level 6 preferred).
• Significant experience and expertise in Safety, Health and Environment in a manufacturing environment.
• Broad understanding of manufacturing and laboratory technologies.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and its application relevant to MBDA operations.
• Experience in a SHE role at a COMAH facility would be advantageous.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
• Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels in the organisation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex information into easily understandable formats.

• Support management and employees on-site to ensure the Company SHE policies and procedures are effectively implemented.
• Help develop a SHE culture of continual improvement.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Facility Management, Security & Explosive Safety.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and self-driven Safety, Health & Environmental Manager to join the MBDA team at our Henlow site. If you are passionate about safety, health and reducing our impact on the environment, this challenging but rewarding position may be for you.

Salary: Circa £53,000 depending on experience

Dynamic working pattern: Typically 3 days on-site and 2 days remote working each week.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The role may involve travel to other MBDA UK locations.

What we’re looking for from you:
