Job summary

Brinsbury College in Pulborough is seeking an Arboriculture Instructor/Technician to support practical and theory teaching in forestry and arboriculture. A level 3+ qualification and NPTC certificates are required, with a first aid certificate preferred.

The role covers safety, climbing techniques, and equipment maintenance for a diverse student cohort. You will prepare equipment, supervise safety, and manage records and college resources to the highest safety standards, with opportunities for

Qualifications

• Qualified forestry/arboriculture at level 3 or above.
• NPTC certificates including chainsaw maintenance, cross cutting, felling small trees, tree climbing.
• First aid certificate in arboriculture (preferred).
• Knowledge of industry legislation and codes of practice.
• Experience delivering practical and theory sessions in arboriculture.

Responsibilities

• Prepare practical equipment and safe working areas for forestry/arboriculture courses.
• Support lead lecturer in training, teaching and delivery with safety and risk assessment.
• Maintain service records of equipment and inspection visits.
• Maintain arboriculture resources to high safety standards.
