Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer for a long-term contract position supporting a civil nuclear decommissioning project in Warrington. This hybrid role offers a mix of on-site and remote work, preferably three days on-site per week. Candidates must have proven experience within the civil nuclear sector, writing nuclear HAZANs, as well as safety case and hazard analysis experience. Applicants must be British passport holders due to clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety engineering in the civil nuclear sector.
• Knowledge of nuclear HAZAN reports.
• Experience in safety case and hazard analysis.
• SC clearance or higher? required and BPSS upgrade available.

Senior Safety Engineer to support a large civil nuclear decommissioning project based in Warrington.

This is a long-term contract role, initially 52 weeks, with strong potential to extend for several years. Hybrid working is available, with a preference for three days per week on site.

• Position: Senior Safety Engineer
• Location: Warrington (hybrid working)
• Clearance: SC, with the ability to start on BPSS and upgrade
• Start: ASAP (dates flexible)
• Duration: 52 weeks initially
• Proven experience within the civil nuclear sector
• Experience writing nuclear HAZANs
• Safety case and hazard analysis experience on regulated nuclear projects
• British passport holder (no dual nationality due to clearance requirements)

Travel outside Warrington would be minimal and limited to occasional meetings.
