Safety Engineer

Overview:

Our client has a requirement for an experienced safety manager who can support delivery teams and provide safety management, and safety engineering guidance and advice to accountable and responsible personnel within specific DE&S delivery teams.

Role specifics:

• Defence safety engineer, with experience in:

1. Air domain equipment safety management.
2. Safety legislation, regulation, conventions, and defence policy and regulations with good knowledge of ASEMS.
3. Certification and release to service.
4. Through life safety management.
5. Defence safety management systems.
6. Safety case management and reporting.
7. Hazard log and threat management.

Essential skills:

• Must be a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) with a practitioner level experience of safety management systems.
• Must have an ability to day-to-day manage safety engineering tasking.
• Must have knowledge and experience on:

1. Aviation safety management, including:

1. MAA Regulatory Publications.
2. Defence Air Safety Portal.
3. EASA and CAA Regulations.
4. GEAR, ASEMS, POSMS and the DSA Regulations.

Desirable skills:

• Should/could have knowledge and experience of:

1. Remote piloted and uncrewed air vehicles.
2. Maritime platform safety management.
3. Ship/Air Integration.
4. OME and weapons integration.
5. Land based platform safety management.
6. Should/could have knowledge and experience of fault and event tree analysis and BowTie assessment.
