Job summary

The National Theatre is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join its Safety Team in London. You will support the development, coordination and delivery of a comprehensive safety management programme across NT theatre activities, helping to promote a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational standards.

You will handle diary management, minute taking and prioritise tasks to keep safety at the core of every show and venue activity.

Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Understanding of health and safety practice and law.
  • Diary management and minute taking experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Safety Team in developing, coordinating and delivering a comprehensive safety management programme across NT theatre activities.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with legislation and organisational standards.
  • Support departments in maintaining safe working environments for staff, performers, contractors and visitors.
  • Manage diaries and take accurate minutes; prioritise a large number of competing tasks.

Job description

We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to join the National Theatre's Safety team.

The primary purpose of this role is to support the Safety Team in the development, coordination and delivery of a comprehensive safety management programme across all aspects of NT theatre activities. The role contributes to promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and organisational standards and supporting departments in maintaining safe working environments for staff, performers, contractors and visitors.

The successful candidates will have the following:
  • Previous experience in an administrative role
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Awareness of H&S practice and law
  • Experience of diary management and minute taking
  • Experience of effectively prioritising a large number of competing tasks
