Job summary

National Theatre is seeking a Project Manager to join the Estates Capital Projects team. You will be responsible for day-to-day planning, development and delivery of estates capital, infrastructure and building projects across the NT estate, managing a portfolio of projects in various planning and delivery stages.

You will work closely with the Estates team, internal stakeholders, contractors and consultants to maximise outcomes within cost, resource and access constraints, while ensuring

  • Plan, develop and deliver Estates capital, infrastructure and building projects across the NT estate.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects in different planning and delivery stages.

  • Ensure projects do not adversely impact rehearsals or performances.

Job description

We are lookingfor a Project Manager to join the National Theatre's Estates Capital Projects team.

This role is responsible for the day to day planning, development and delivery of Estates capital, infrastructure and building projects for the National Theatre across its estate.

The projects will vary in size and complexity, typically between £50k and £5m, and this role is expected to manage a portfolio of projects in different stages of planning and delivery at any one time.

The role will work closely with the Estates team, internal stakeholders, the project team, contractors, consultants and other external advisors to maximise the outcome and benefits within the constraints set by the project parameters, including cost, resource and access.

The role should aim to deliver these projects without adversely impacting day to day operations, in particular rehearsals and performances.

The successful candidates will have the following:

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering a portfolio capital projects to a high standard, dealing with senior leaders, colleagues, contractors, consultants
  • Project management qualification, or demonstrable experience of using a prescribed governance framework
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A highly motivated individual who has the ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
  • An appetite and aptitude to absorb and understand complex concepts.
