We offer a wide range of mushroom products, including canned, refrigerated, frozen, roasted, organic, and kosher options, to meet the needs of various manufacturing processes and recipe requirements. We also produce mushroom sauces and bases, mushroom slices, pizza-diced mushrooms, and breaded appetizers. The company was founded as the Mushroom Canning Company in 1931 by a group of mushroom farmers. We are seeking a Safety Coordinator for our Cambridge, MD facility. The successful candidate will assist the Safety Department in conducting the day-to-day safety activities of The Mushroom Company and minimizing the risk of job-related accidents.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Full-time Forklift / Pallet Jack trainer

• Full-time new hire Safety facilitator

• Chemical management organizer and Haz Com / GHS coordinator

• LOTO / Confined Space / Haz Com safety trainer

• Safety inspector and STOP Observation facilitator

• Coordinate and perform all EHS required trainings within the company

• Develop and enforce OSHA guidelines, policies, and requirements

• Ensure monthly departmental safety training is completed • Directing accident investigation procedures

• Intervene in unsafe activities or operations

• Maintain records of safety related incidents and propose corrective actions

• Safety meeting translator and interpreter.

REQUIREMENTS

• Driver's License required;

• Bi-lingual - ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in English and Spanish is required.

• 3+ years of experience required, preferably in a food production environment

• Good listening and communication skills needed.

• Willingness to assist employees with safety issues and/or concerns.

• Computer skills needed (Word, Excel, and Power Point).

• Verbal and written communication skills required.
