Job summary

Elizabeth Michael Ltd is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead HS&E standards across projects in construction and energy sectors. You’ll work across offices and sites, advising Directors, Project Managers and site teams to ensure safe, compliant delivery.

The role combines office duties with regular site visits, aiming to strengthen safety culture, manage RAMS and CDM compliance, and maintain accreditations such as ISO 45001. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent required.
• Previous Health & Safety experience within construction, engineering or related environment.
• Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience with RAMS, risk assessments, audits and site inspections.

Responsibilities

• Develop and continually improve the company’s HS&E strategy, policies and procedures.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and Health & Safety reviews.
• Review and support RAMS, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Advise Project Managers and site teams on practical Health & Safety solutions.
• Support Construction Phase Plans and CDM compliance.
• Monitor subcontractor and supply chain Health & Safety standards.
• Lead or support investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, briefings and safety communications.
• Identify training requirements and maintain competency records.
• Maintain company accreditations and compliance systems.
• Support the development of an ISO 45001-aligned management system.
• Monitor HS&E performance and recommend improvements.
• Keep the business updated on relevant legislation and industry best practice.
