Job description

GCU UK Ltd is a successful civil engineering company, committed to delivering excellence in the fibre network build and utilities sectors. We are passionate about compliance, safety, and operational efficiency. Our growing portfolio of work means we are looking for an additional experienced Safety Coach – HSEQ Advisor to join our team based out of Inverness and working across the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

What We Expect of You:

  1. You will be responsible for delivering engaging safety workshops and training sessions, using multimedia resources and interactive activities to create impactful learning experiences.
  2. You’ll address workforce safety concerns with practical, actionable solutions and stay up-to-date with the latest safety trends and best practices.
  3. This role will require regional travel to deliver workshops and outreach efforts, maintaining accurate records for reporting and assessment.
  4. Additionally, you will conduct day-to-day HSEQ activities, including inspections, audits, and investigations.
  5. You should have the ability to evaluate and continuously improve safety programs, as well as intervene and guide on safety behaviours and conditions when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or higher).
  • Proven experience in safety coaching or education.
  • A strong understanding of safety protocols, risk assessment, and regulations.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using multimedia tools for delivering engaging presentations.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for this role.
