Job description

Please note, this post will be based out of Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre. While the role is normally based at this location, you may be required to work at other establishments across Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies as reasonably required.

The hours are based on a 6-week shift pattern, covering weekdays and weekends.

Principle purpose of the role

To implement the strategy for casualty reduction, conduct enforcement using mobile handheld camera systems at sites and routes with issues related to speed-related road collisions, or where speeding is considered a problem, and produce evidential material for correct legal processing of offences.

Essential criteria:
  • Effective communication skills for handling sensitive and confrontational issues, and presenting evidence in writing and court.
  • Experience with computer systems and basic keyboard skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage workload within deadlines.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety regarding moving and handling equipment.
  • Proficient in navigation by road, using maps, references, and written descriptions.
  • Accurate observation, record-keeping, and information collection skills.
  • Proficiency with technical equipment operation and understanding.
  • Holder of a full driving license.
Desirable criteria:
  • Understanding of the criminal justice system, road traffic law, and rules of evidence.
