Job summary

A Safety & Assurance Engineer is sought for Aberdeen, Scotland, with hybrid working options and an Outside IR35 contract for a long-term project. The role focuses on ensuring safety-critical systems and services remain safe, resilient, and compliant throughout their lifecycle.

Key duties include producing and maintaining safety documentation, supporting hazard/risk activities, and collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Cyber Security, Human Factors and Assurance teams to meet regulatory

We are seeking a Safety & Assurance Engineer to support the delivery of safety-critical engineering projects within a highly regulated environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring systems and services are safe, resilient, and compliant throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain Safety & Assurance documentation.
• Support hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation activities.
• Facilitate and contribute to safety workshops.
• Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Cyber Security, Human Factors, and Assurance teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety management processes and regulatory requirements.

Experience Required

• HNC or equivalent qualification in Engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
• Experience within safety-critical, regulated, or engineering environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience with safety assurance, risk management, or governance activities would be advantageous.
