Responsibilities

Description of Role

Our Fire and Security engineering team is central to our business. Our engineers are multi-skilled across various technologies and products, with extensive knowledge built over many years. Customer service and delivering high-quality engineering are priorities. This role includes mentored training and development, with opportunities for future progression.

  • Install, commission, and service our range of field equipment including fire and intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, audio-visual, public address, and voice alarm systems.
  • Perform retrofit upgrades/extensions to existing systems as part of remedial works.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Interpret site plans based on survey documentation for installations.
  • Respond to reactive call-outs aiming for first-time fixes.
  • Offer on-site technical support and solutions during reactive and planned visits.
  • Complete documentation according to company standards.
  • Follow strict H&S guidelines.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
  • Advise customers on new products and services to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications

Skills, knowledge, and experience required for development include:

Experience
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and self-motivation.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • DBS clearance for public sector work.

  • Competent administrative skills and knowledge of internal systems.
  • Commercial awareness, including system design and pricing.

  • Experience with BAFE/SSAIB/NSI accredited companies.
  • Valid CSCS/ECS card.
  • Certifications like IPAF, PASMA, Asbestos Awareness.
  • Current electrical qualifications.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard manufacturers such as Bosch, Hikvision, Gallagher, etc.
  • Gallagher Access Control skills are preferred.
